Summer 2017 Enrichment Program Schedule- Summer Hours 9:00am-3:00pm M-F

STEP 3: Choose your time slot. 9:00-10:00; 10:00-11:00; 11:00-12:00; 1:00-2:00; 2:00-3:00
PRICING: Programs meet one hour a day for ten days. The first two-week session program costs $200. Each additional program costs $150; applicable only to the same child. Simply call to register and determine scheduling availability! The possibilities are endless!
NEW THIS SUMMER! Cooking 1 Program- Chefs in training participating in this program will learn all about kitchen equipment, cooking terms, recipes, knife skills, labels, cooking techniques and the science behind them along with MUCH more! (Grades K & up)
NEW THIS SUMMER! Cooking 2/Baking Program- After completing Cooking 1, these intermediate level chefs will be introduced to more advanced cooking techniques. In addition, students in this program will “mix things up” by learning baking concepts for cakes, pies, cookies, and tasty treats! (Grades 3 & up)
NEW THIS SUMMER! Cooking for Adults Program- Take a class while you wait for your child in their program! Learn about meal planning and preparing nutritionally balanced and tasty meals within budget . Explore techniques such as roasting, sauteing, braising, blanching, frying, how to prepare meat cuts and amaze yourself as your abilities unfold!
NEW THIS SUMMER! Food Preservation for Adults Program- Take a class while you wait for your child in their program! Canning, freezing, and dehydrating are just a few of the concepts that will be taught in this class. Equipment, such as a pressure cooker, will be demonstrated and discussed in addition to food safety and sanitation information. This class is taught by a food preservation EXPERT, and you will not want to miss this!
NEW THIS SUMMER! Cool Moves Etiquette Program- Good manners never go out of style! Gain confidence by learning and practicing appropriate behavior when making introductions, on the phone, online, in public places, at school, at home, in specific social situations, at mealtime, and more! (Grades 1 & up)
NEW THIS SUMMER! Woodworking Program (ONLY July sessions)– Explore the world of wood! Enjoy working with your hands and learning the basic concepts for operating hand tools to create a variety of projects. Learn about safety concepts for handling tools along with skills and concepts for creating designs! (Grades 3 & up)
NEW THIS SUMMER! Algebra Boot Camp Program- Get ready for a mathematical work out! This boot camp is designed to review major Algebra concepts that will help students become more firm on basic skills before entering their next year/level of math whether that be Algebra II or Geometry. (For students who have completed Algebra)
NEW THIS SUMMER! Algebra Prep Program- Stay one step ahead, and get an extra jump start for your fall Algebra class through this prep/review class which will help students enter a new school year of math with confidence and ease. This class is perfect for students who have completed Pre-Algebra or Advanced Math and will be entering Algebra I. (For students entering Algebra in August)
Leadership Program for Middle and High School- Is your child a born leader? Perhaps they need additional confidence to help them develop and grow leadership skills. Both types of students will benefit from this program! Students will participate in a series of activities relating to leadership, exploring the qualities of good leader, assessing leadership qualities within themselves, and evaluating the leadership characteristics used in everyday activities. (Grades 5-12)
Study Skills/Organization Program for Middle and High School- Say goodbye to the stress, pressure, frustration, and bad grades that can come from being disorganized! Work smarter, not harder as you learn organizational methods, note-taking skills, how to study, stress management, and more through this program designed specifically for grades 6-12. Students in this program will need to bring the binder they used during the last school year along with any folders, papers, dividers, etc. that it contained. (Grades 5-12)
Lego Logic Program- Experience the joy of Legos while developing reasoning skills through building, deductive skills, attention to detail, mathematical patterns, and more. This class is perfect for the student who loves Legos and enjoys new methods of thinking and creating! (Grades 1 & up)
Electricity! Program- Learn how to make battery-powered buildable gadgets and gizmos that go all while studying the concept of electricity and diving deep into the world of circuits! Students will create a variety of projects all leading up to a final, take-home gadget that is sure to wow! (Grades 2 & up)
Rocket Science Program- Explore the amazing world of rocketry while creating and testing a variety of types of rockets in addition to learning about the history, function, and structure of rockets. (Grades 3 & up)
Rocket Science 2 Program- Learn more advanced techniques and methods for creating higher range rockets and testing and measuring launch systems. Our Rocket Science Program is a prerequisite for this class, and a $10 engine supply fee will be requested upon registration. (Grades 3 & up)
Problem Solving Program- Stretching brains to the limits, this program urges students to “think outside the box” to find ways to solve all sorts of problems. From real world concepts that challenge society to mathematical and scientific puzzlers, students who enjoy multiple approaches to a single problem will advance in their thinking abilities. (Grades 2 & up)
Mad Scientist Program- Discover exciting new methods for conducting experiments and determining outcomes for long awaited questions with this unique exploration method. (Grades 1 & up)
Drama Program-(ONLY July 17-28) Embracing self-expression through voice, body, and imagination, these classes will explore numerous theatrical skills including focus, memorization, and character development. Utilizing theatre games and rehearsals of a short production, which will be performed at the close of the camp session, each session will focus on a different production, so students will grow their skills while working on new material each time they attend. (Grades 1 & up) Taught by a professional, equity actor!
Improv! Program-(ONLY July 17-28) Inventing and reacting on the spur of the moment, students will develop skills through a variety of theatre activities that will allow them to practice making connections and unlocking their imaginations. At the end of the two-week session, they will share several improvised scenes, created from suggestions by the audience. (Grades 1 & up) Taught by a professional, equity actor!
Musical Theatre Program-(ONLY July 17-28) Focusing on basic singing and dancing skills, students will be introduced to common musical theatre choreography and will perform a small medley of popular musical theatre pieces at the close of the course. (Grades 2 & up) Taught by a professional, equity actor!
Advanced Drama Program-(ONLY July 17-28) Requiring a significant time commitment outside of class, students will focus more deeply into scene work and script analysis which will result in the sharing of scenes from a classic play. (Grades 5 & up) Taught by a professional, equity actor!
Reading Readiness Program- Enjoy a little extra grade level preparation in reading the exciting way…through fun activities and grade level review in reading designed to give students a bit of an extra boost to enter confidently into the next grade level! (Grades 1-4)
Phonics Fun Program- Focusing specifically on phonics skills to help with decoding for reading fluency and comprehension, this program will teach students to apply phonics skills within reading. (Grades K-2)
Kinder-Art Program- Perfect for the artistic little one in your life, projects in this program are designed with age-appropriateness and academic support in mind. Students learn art skills, color recognition, gain motor skills practice, and patience all while creating quality, keepsake projects to enjoy for years to come! (Ages 3-6)
Art Program- Designed to offer students the freedom to experiment and develop a sense of self expression, the focus is on the process rather than the product. Students will be encouraged, through a variety of techniques, to discover the elements of art and to intuitively apply the principals of art and design to their creations. (Grades 1 & up)
Advanced Art Program– After completing the Art Program, or at the discretion of a parents’ recommendation, students in Advanced Art will be challenged at a higher level of design, skill, and focus. Creating projects of a greater technical nature, each student will begin a portfolio of projects which will commence in an end-of-session art show. (Grades 3 & up)
Sewing/Quilting 1 Program– Experience the joys of quilting and sewing as students learn basic techniques! Students will perfect the art of straight stitching, piecing and color design as they create their very own pillowcase, panel, pajamas, jellyroll quilt, and more! A sewing machine and basic supplies will be necessary, and a supply list will be provided upon registration. (Grades 3 & up)
Sewing/Quilting 2 Program– After completion of Quilting 1, students are invited to expand their technique through more advanced patterns and projects. Students will complete an intricately patterned quilt. A sewing machine and basic supplies will be necessary, and a supply list will be provided upon registration. Quilting 2 projects include: Patchwork, Jellyroll with a Twist, Trip Around the World (Grades 3 & up)
T-Shirt Quilt Program (Quilting 3)- Create a family heirloom and preserve memories for years to come with your very own t-shirt quilt! Adults are welcome and do not have the same prerequisites! This program requires students to have completed a Quilting 1 & 2 Program and have 9-12 t-shirts to include in their quilt. (Grades 3 & up)
Doll Clothing Program– After completing Quilting 1, students may opt to join this program which creates an entire wardrobe of clothing for 18″ dolls. With outfits ranging from skirts and dresses to shirts and pants, students not only gain experience in sewing but also in fashion, design, and color choice as they prepare this variety of outfits. (Grades 3 & up)
